Dying to Self- Jesus is interceding for you and me even Today

Dying to self is never portrayed as optional in our walk with Christ. When we come to a total understanding as humans we share the same denominator of humanity with Jesus who is the author of our faith.Jesus  perfectly understands each one of our struggles and the frailties.

Dear Lord,

Help me hold on firmly in the faith that You, my High Priest, even in my weakness empathise and intercede. As keep  marvelling Your humanity and divinity which is a mystery. Help me never to forget I am covered and protected by your shed blood on the Cross. Help me to live in total revelation of who you are living in me. In your name, Amen.

It’s a mystery as we see Jesus as fully human even though He is fully Divine. We need to stop and ponder- Like any one of us Jesus was Born to a mother, unfairly accused, turned off by power greedy religious leaders, experienced unappreciated siblings, acquainted with physical pain, rejected by friends, enjoyed a good party, unfairly treated, stood  up to defend the defenceless, kept awake at night by concerns, known to doze off in the midst of trips, accused of being so rowdy, being afraid of death..do we recognise that Jesus was tempted in every as we are and he is able to empathise with our weakness?

Dying to self is the reality of the new birth; Sometimes people mistake dying to self for death of self but self-denial is not self-rejection. God treasures your divinely created self. He doesn’t want to obliterate the part of you that makes you uniquely you.God works within you and reshapes you into the person that you are renewed-in-Christ.Your self is meant to be not selfish with what you own, not concerned about how circumstances affect  you, and not crabby when others seem to get what you want.

Heb 4:14,15 – “Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathise with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.” (NIV)
