“If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me” – Matthew 16:24 (NIV)
Coming to a point of desperation to be partakers of the coming kingdom requires us to introspect more deeply than ever before.
I would like to humbly present to you a checklist:
- When someone tried to take or took something valuable or precious from you, and your rights as a woman were misused. You felt shame, hurt, forgotten, humiliated, and rejected.
THERE – Dying to self is the time when you rejoice over the fact that you had an opportunity to suffer for the name of Christ.
- When your goodness was mistaken, misinterpreted, spoken of as evil, and your desires and wishes were refused, your ideas were not welcomed, and you were made fun of.
THERE – Dying to self is the time when you, without being angry, continued to love God and remained patient.
- When you tolerate or face delay, disorder, confusion, or anger towards others, and you lack emotional or spiritual sensitivity.
THERE – Dying to self is the time when you endure it with a loving attitude and experience total transformation within yourself.
- If you can genuinely go through situations where you are not being noticed.
THERE – Dying to self is the time when you truly desire that your name should never be mentioned for your good and exemplary achievements and good work.
- When you experience various discomforts due to your outfit, emotions, environment, weather, climatic conditions, social background, or even loneliness according to the word of God.
THERE – Dying to self is the time when the nature of self in us is found to be eradicated, and we are genuinely satisfied with whatever is given to us.
- When others become richer, more popular, and greater, even dictating to you irrespective of their age, especially in the most critical situations, and when their needs are met.
THERE – Dying to self is the time when you can rejoice without being jealous of them, experiencing transformation within ourselves.
Don’t you think it is ideal to focus on the Cross of Jesus as He paid the highest price, purchasing us to be His priceless possession?
