The Everlasting Blessing of Scriptural Declarations

Satan is a liar and the father of lies. He deceives the nations and deceives Christians into thinking his lies are true. He is the accuser of the brethren, who accuses us before the throne of God.

Zechariah 3 depicts the scene before the throne of God where the saint stands in tattered garments and Satan at his right hand making incessant accusations against him. The Lord steps in by commanding the angel of the Lord to clothe him in new garments clean and white, to put on him a turban. And the Lord declared: “I have caused your iniquity to pass from you, and I will clothe you with a change of raiment.”

The Revelation of Jesus Christ declares in Revelation 3:5 and 18, Revelation 4:4, that the saints are clothed in white raiment and that the shame of their nakedness does not appear.

  • Revelation 3:5 says, He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the Book of Life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
  • Revelation 3:18 says I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and with white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness does not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

Revelation 4:4. And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their head’s crowns of gold.

I can testify out of my own experiences about the lasting effect of confessing and declaring the Living Promises of God. Numerous testimonies of my own experience which can stand so tall amidst the upheaval of events and even in turbulent times of life. It is a joy again to see our children and their children are modelling these patterns of declarations becoming ‘more than conquerors’ in Christ Jesus.

May I encourage the readers to adapt the practice of declarations in small ways – probably one or two promises a day. Keep a journal to keep adding your declarations day by day.
