Creating a vision for your life might seem like a frivolous waste of time. But, ‘a compelling vision of the life you want’ is one of the most effective strategies for achieving your dreams. Perhaps the best way to look at the concept of a ‘life vision’ is as a compass to help guide you to take the best actions and make the right choices that help propel you towards your best life.
The director of a play might “envision” a perfect production before rehearsals begin.Visions communicate their values and goals. Envision what you want your life to look like. Take time to create a mental picture of your Vision. To begin with, explore your passion and talents. Spend time and delve in with what you admire about events, activities, people, places, services. So, let’s try an experiment-
- Project yourself five to ten years into the future.
- Determine your purpose and position in your personal life. Describe what success looks like in your view.
- Consider your personality, temperament type and nature.
- Reference your opposing factors, create an analogy.
- Describe a measurable goal.
A personal vision statement describes your values, your strengths and your goals. It can be focused on personal or even professional goals, and it is intended to orient you toward your long-term dreams. It also can describe the future aspirations of the organisation or your family. A good vision statement should contain a summary that is memorable and enhances the effectiveness of our vision .This can act as a trigger to the rest of the vision even in the minds of those who read it. “To achieve sustainable growth, we have established a vision with clear goal.
“When we know our call and election, we will not stumble.”
Now, in order to set a Vision for your life, work to resolve old wounds. Understand it’s not about you. Don’t limit yourself, keep growing, get feedback and buy-in from trusted sources. You are very special and you are unique and one of a kind in this whole universe.
