Series: Still Unfinished – God’s Work on the Canvas of My Life
Some life lessons are not taught by sermons or books—but by suffering. Pain has been one of my greatest teachers. It has stripped away pride, exposed hidden wounds, and forced me to discover who God is beyond blessings, breakthroughs, and answered prayers.
Let us ponder in these last few days left in this year of 2025 that is slipping away from our lives.
There were seasons when pain felt relentless. Times when betrayal from people I trusted left scars I thought would never heal. Times when ministry became a battlefield and loneliness became a companion. Times when I stood before God with empty hands and a trembling voice, wondering if He still saw me.
Pain taught me to pray in ways comfort never could.
I remember moments when the battle was fierce, and God delivered miracles that human hands could not explain. When provision appeared at the final hour. When supernatural peace covered my heart in the middle of chaos. When God restored what seemed permanently broken. These encounters stitched faith into my spirit—thread by thread.
Pain also taught me humility. There were seasons I wished to run, hide, or give up. But every time I collapsed in surrender, God lifted me gently. He strengthened me where I was weakest. He turned scars into stories that now strengthen others.
Then came the deepest valley—losing David. Watching the strongest man I knew fade before my eyes was a pain that words cannot describe. I held his hands as heaven welcomed him, and in that moment my heart broke in ways I never imagined possible. The silence after his passing was deafening.
But even there—in the valley where words fail—God met me again.
He taught me that suffering does not destroy faith—it purifies it.
He showed me that peace is not the absence of pain—but His presence in the middle of it.
He reminded me that hope does not come from outcomes—but from trusting His heart.
Today, I see pain differently.
It is not punishment.
It is preparation.
It is shaping me into the image of Christ.
Suffering has taught me compassion, patience, discernment, and dependence on God. It has deepened my worship, widened my vision, and transformed my calling. I stand not as a survivor—but as a witness that God still resurrects what seems finished.
If you are walking through suffering today—do not despise it.
The place that feels like death may become the birthplace of your greatest testimony.
Your story is not over.
The Author is still writing.
