Still Unfinished – God’s Work on the Canvas of Faith
Motherhood is a sacred calling that reshapes every corner of the heart. It is a journey filled with joy and exhaustion, laughter and tears, dreams and battles. I stepped into motherhood not with confidence, but with trembling hands—afraid of failing, afraid of not being enough, afraid of repeating cycles I desperately wanted to break.
There were seasons when I felt overwhelmed and unseen, seasons when I questioned if the prayers I whispered in the dark were reaching heaven at all. Many nights I stood beside sleeping children with tears streaming down my face, quietly praying:
“Lord, keep them. Guide them. Make them what I cannot.”
I remember the days when finances were scarce, when cupboards looked empty, and when the weight of responsibility felt too heavy to carry. I remember crying silently, so my children would not hear and asking God to give me strength when I felt too weak to stand. Yet, even in the most fragile moments, God was shaping something eternal.
A Scripture That Held Me
The Lord gave me a promise I clung to through sleepless nights and silent battles:
“All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children.” — Isaiah 54:13
This was not just a verse.
It became a lifeline.
It became an anchor when storms raged.
God began to teach me that motherhood is not about perfection—it is about intercession. It is not about having every answer—it is about pointing children to the One who does.
A Testimony of Miracles
There were moments when each of my children walked through their own valleys—illnesses that made me tremble, crises that brought me to my knees, seasons when their futures seemed uncertain. But God showed up again and again in ways that left me speechless.
When others doubted them, God raised them.
When doors closed, God opened better ones.
When identity battles arose, God restored purpose.
When delays came, God turned waiting into wisdom.
Today, when I look at my children raising children of their own—each uniquely purposed, gifted, and marked by grace—I see the visible evidence of prayers watered with tears. I see God’s faithfulness across generations, including the newest little miracle, Kezia Daniella, whose arrival came like a sunrise of hope in a night of grief.
Even in missing David this season, motherhood gained a deeper meaning.
I watched my children carry strength and faith I never imagined.
They became my testimony as they hold on to the Lord each day.
Life Lesson
Motherhood is more than raising children—it is raising warriors, leaders, worshipers, and legacy carriers. The prayers of a mother become seeds that bloom across generations. No tears are wasted. No night is forgotten. God hears. God answers. God finishes what He begins.
Reflection Questions
- What promise from God are you praying over your children or family today?
- In what area of parenting or leadership do you need to release control and trust God more deeply?
Prayer
Father, thank You for the gift of motherhood and the legacy You are writing through my family. Strengthen every weary parent, restore hope where there is discouragement, and fulfill every promise spoken over our children. Let Your peace surround them, Your purpose lead them, and Your presence remains with them all the days of their lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
