Series: Still Unfinished – God’s Work on the Canvas of My Life
Grief has a way of stripping life down to only what matters. After David’s passing, I walked through days where breathing felt like a task, and nights that seemed endless. People often say time heals, but time alone does not heal anything—it is God who heals us inside time.
There were mornings when I woke up expecting to hear his footsteps or his gentle, “Are you okay?” Only to face silence that echoed like thunder. My hands reached for someone who was no longer there. My heart kept asking questions no human could answer.
Pain does not knock politely. It invades.
But as I sat in that valley, I remembered valleys we had survived before—seasons when loneliness cut deeply, when finances collapsed, when ministry felt like warfare, when I carried burdens too heavy to name. I remembered moments when friends walked away, when trust was broken, when words wounded more than actions. And through every valley, God proved Himself faithful.
Even now, I see His fingerprints in every step:
The unexpected encouragement.
The prayers of friends.
The strength to stand when I wanted to collapse.
The peace that arrived like a blanket in the night.
Loss tries to define us, but God transforms us. Pain tries to silence us, but testimony gives strength to others. I have learned that tears speak a language heaven fully understands. Jesus Himself wept—so mine are not a sign of weakness, but worship.
When I thought the story was over, God whispered:
“You are still alive because your purpose is still alive.”
I am not who I used to be. I will never be who I was before loss—but I am becoming who God destined me to be. Strength is rising from the pieces. Hope is growing where death once stood. Love is deeper because it has walked through fire.
I do not walk alone.
The Shepherd walks with me.

🙏 Prayer
Father, thank You for being close to the brokenhearted. Lift my eyes above the pain and let me see Your presence beside me. Strengthen my heart to walk forward, not in my power but in Yours. Turn my tears into testimony and my pain into purpose. Write hope into every chapter of my story. Amen.
