Breaking free from codependency with biblical principles involves recognizing and admitting the problem, surrendering to God, setting boundaries, and focusing on personal growth. It is important to acknowledge the unhealthy patterns and behaviors in the relationship, and seek help from a trusted counselor or mentor. Praying for guidance and strength, and relying on God’s love and grace, can bring healing and transformation. Setting clear boundaries and learning to say “no” can help establish healthy relationships based on mutual respect and love. By focusing on personal growth, seeking God’s will, and allowing Him to guide the way, it is possible to break free from codependency and experience the freedom and joy that come from a healthy, God-centered relationship.
Steps to solve Codependency:
- Addressing codependency is an indirect way of undue respect and worship of man.
- Codependency takes much of your attention and even denies your personal principles.
- Remove the boundaries in case of health issues.
- Love beyond limit which makes you feel that you don’t exist anymore.
- Knowing that our Lord Jesus is my owner and that He takes the highest priority of my life.
Stop being everything to the other person. Learn to live depending on the Lord Jesus Christ:
- If you think at present your relationship level brings you more curses and no blessing as the Scripture says in Deuteronomy 30: 19, 20 “This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curses, now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is in your life, and he will give you many years in the land.” This is the right time to change!!!. If you realise that you are codependent, accept your mistakes and talk about it to an accountable person.
- Look / search for ways of escape. Accept your sin of codependency in the presence of God yourself.
- Never be a part of the effect of Co-dependency hereafter, recognizing that codependency is a sin.
- Look at your past and write them and view them all within you. God will grant you freedom from all that has imprisoned you.
- Change all your practices from old to new.
