Down Payment Prayer (06) What is the expected outcome?

“That all the people of the earth may know, that the LORD is God, and that there is none else.” – 1 Kings 8:60

The immediate answer we seek may not be apparent. The desired outcome should encompass the expansion of His kingdom, the glorification of His name, personal edification, and a heightened awareness of our own small-mindedness and fearfulness. Rather than merely seeking fulfillment of our desires or promises, we should strive to become more resilient individuals, capable of helping others and serving as examples of His goodness.

The answer will undoubtedly manifest, but it may not always come in the package we expect or desire.

Through this process, I have come to understand both my weaknesses and God’s perspective on me. More importantly, I have experienced a higher purpose beyond the immediate solution to the challenges before me. Often, I don’t have all the answers, and that’s perfectly acceptable. Even in my struggles, I have gleaned practical life lessons during seasons of crisis.

When faced with a dead-end or seemingly insurmountable challenges in life, it is natural to seek higher solutions. In some life situations, we need not wait until we are utterly helpless; even before reaching that point, we can positively engage in the practice of ‘Down Payment.’

While this world may seem hopeless at times, the focus should not solely be on this world alone. It extends to a larger world where our God reigns, as the scripture emphasizes, “The whole earth is full of His glory” (Psalm 33:5).

“The earth is the LORD’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the waters. Let the world know that there is a Living God.” – Psalms 24:1-2 (New King James Version, NKJV)

“That all the people of the earth may know, that the LORD is God, and that there is none else.” – Isaiah 44:6, 8, 24, 60.

David declared in 1 Samuel 17:46: “This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.” – 1 Kings 8:43. All we desire is that all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else. That’s all. Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place.
