Downpayment prayer- when to do it?

Down Payment in a Relationship:

A down payment in a relationship serves to reduce one’s indebtedness or express one’s obligation of gratitude. It can take the form of a gift. In another context, a down payment is typically referred to as an initial up-front partial payment made for the purchase of expensive items, such as a car or a house.

Jesus Paid It All:

Jesus paid it all on the cross of Calvary. Now, all we owe Him is our love and gratitude. We can never repay enough for the marvelous gift of salvation, forgiveness, and the hope that extends beyond the present into eternal life.

Feeling Confined in Life:

Have you ever felt confined in life, unable to move freely, as if trapped in your own home or a particular life situation? Perhaps you’ve experienced a sense of captivity or bondage, where you feel isolated, while others seem to be progressing in life, leaving you stuck in a wilderness with no way out.

I, too, have experienced such confinement in life. No amount of human effort could free me from this situation. Instead of dwelling in the deep pit of self-pity, depression, and hopelessness, I discovered the only way out was to surrender it all to the Lord. There is no greater calling in the universe than being in the presence of the Lord and understanding His heart in all of this.

I would like to share how the Lord opened my eyes to a new understanding of this discipline called “Down Payment,” which has been a powerful force shifting my focus and yielding control of my life to Him. The Lord is almighty, eternal, everlasting, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. This discipline has led to many victories, both in this village over the last few decades and in personal life encounters.

The Down Payment Prayer:

The Down Payment prayer can be practiced by anyone desperate for the help and comfort of the Lord, still holding onto hope. It involves trusting God and leaning on Him with the burdens that weigh heavily on you. In these situations, take the time to trust and give back to God what is due to Him. Even in the midst of challenges, declare who God is.

Embracing this discipline can bring a renewed sense of freedom and hope, even in the most confined situations of life.
