Wondering How and Where to Start Your Prayer Journey?
We often wonder how and where to start our prayer journey. Questions may arise, such as whom to call for prayer. However, these questions shouldn’t define you as incompetent in your systematic prayer walk. Below, I offer some tips that have emerged from my own experiences. I hope these can serve as stepping stones for you, and you can model them or add additional intricacies as needed.
Before You Pray, Prepare a Prayer List:
One helpful practice is to have a prayer list of the things you need. Here are a few tips to begin your prayer journey:
1. Record Your Prayer List:
- Keep a small diary or notebook where you can record your prayer list.
- Find spare moments during the day for prayerful meditation.
2. Keep Your Prayer List Handy:
- Place reminders of your prayer list in strategic locations:
- In the kitchen
- On the dining table
- On your bathroom mirror
- As a bookmark in your Bible
3. Use Daily Incidents as Prayer Prompts:
- Take note of the events and occurrences of your day as an unwritten prayer list.
Often, as we pray in agreement with the Spirit, we are confident in receiving answers. However, it’s equally important to preserve these answers, whether they are temporal or spiritual in nature, even the blessings of deliverance and freedom.
How to Preserve Your Deliverance:
Deliverance is about being rescued from hardship or captivity. Sometimes, it may be due to an unrecognizable wrong we’ve committed. Here are some steps to help you preserve your deliverance:
1. Live by God’s Word:
- Embrace and live by the teachings of God’s Word.
2. Clothe Yourself in Praise:
- Fill your heart with praises and gratitude for God, thanking Him for His blessings.
3. Embrace Discipline:
- Accept and follow a disciplined life that aligns with God’s principles.
4. Cultivate Right Fellowship:
- Surround yourself with people who share your faith and values.
5. Put on the Whole Armor of God:
- As mentioned in Ephesians 6:11, equip yourself with the whole armor of God to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Remember that our battles are not against flesh and blood, but against principalities.
May these tips help you embark on a fulfilling and fruitful prayer journey, deepening your connection with God and preserving the blessings He bestows upon you.
