Our Combat Zone (5) Satan lures us away from the Truth

The enemy attacks those who listen to the Gospel, in the following ways:

  • Disable them from the understanding of the death of Jesus.
  • Filling their hearts with doubts, Idol worship, giving importance to auspicious days, horoscopes and many ungodly ideas in their lives and so on.
  • Unbelievers trying to sabotage the true Gospel of Jesus.
  • John 17, makes it clear that if we are in the world but not of the world, we are going to have conflicts. Satan would use every kind of enticement possible to lure man’s heart away from God.
  • He prevents them from ‘hearing the truth’. Stop the missions from going out in faith for God’s service through discouragement and weakness. Even if they go out of unbelief and inner conflict they restrict the Gospel of the crucified Christ but end up speaking out the generalised worldly topics.
  • Even if they preach the Gospel of our Lord they have a ‘form of godliness and deny the power of God’ as in  Titus 2:16, 11 Timothy 3:5, with powerless prayer. These People preach and establish a new mode but not the ‘kingdom of Jesus’ and give others ideas that the truth is less important.

Again, he can attack the believers by affecting  Prayer Times

These following steps show how our Prayer times and our Bible reading times are attacked and affected by Satan:

  • Postpone prayer times by helping one to have a good sleep in Prayer Time.
  • Sending guests during Prayer Times.
  • Bringing dirty thoughts during Prayer Times.
  • Satan tries to stop the answers to our prayers which further stops our praying
  • Bringing illnesses that weaken our strength to pray
  • He fills our mind with other things. Lack of concentration.
  • Creating a doubt of God’s presence.
  • Creating a doubt of the genuineness of the whole Bible.
  • To be discouraged about failure.
  • Confusion sets in by division, Spirit of jealousy sets in.
  • He affects all these areas to health, education, work, perfection, vehicles, wealth, husbands, wives, children, neighbours.
  • He prevents the believers from giving to the works of God.
  • He gives the idea that God can indefinitely wait and repentance can be done later. Bring in an idea that the amount of money we will give them is a waste.

In John 17:7- 26, Jesus gives a clear message through His prayer to the Father about the seriousness of our lives in this “world”.  Prayer, therefore, is a rebuke of the groundless and often better division among believers. Thus, by faith, we can make the ‘enemy’ tremble.
