We may die young, and yet fill up the measure of our days. Our Lord died a young man, and yet he “finished the work which the Father gave him to do.” Many martyrs, many devoted labourers in the field of usefulness, have failed to reach extreme old age, but they have not failed to accomplish the task which the great Leader had set for them.
The Excellency of life depends on its quality, not on its quantity.
“One day in thy courts is better than a thousand days” (Psalm. 84:10) etc. “Though the sinner dies a hundred years old, he shall be accursed, and his life will be a bane and a blot” (Isaiah 65:20). A very few years (or months) of holy service may be of inestimable service to the cause of Christ and of man.
When I think of my future, what comes to mind? Words like promise, growth, joy. Do you think wrinkles, grey hair, age spots?
The second half of my life holds opportunities the first I could never touch. Life has an opportunity to refresh, grow with feminine look, and grow wiser, stronger and more vibrant through the years.
I can start today building tomorrow of incredible richness as I discover my true self, my soul a well-tended soul-weeds of what is magnate and false and builds in what is beautiful, worthy and redemptive. Soul centred women have a joyful confidence about the future seeing the potential while others see loss.
Troubles are only temporary and Life is short. The Scripture says
- In Job 5:7 “Man is born unto trouble”,
- In Job 5:7,14:1. “Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble,”
- Iin James 4:13-15. It can seem empty at times as in Ecclesiastes 6:12; Psalms 89:47.
- King David said in (Psalms 89:47) “… how short my time is …
- In “Psalms 90:10 “The days of our years … yet is their strength, labour and sorrow, for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
