Thousands of people experienced abuse at the hands of their parents and other relatives. Our faults have to be exposed in order to be emotionally, mentally and spiritually healthy individuals. Actually the stress of hiding the abuse is even affecting our physical health. 

I was trapped in endless self pity as I always felt rejected and what people thought of me. The last thing I needed was someone to feel sorry for me. God gives what we need, not what we want.

Dear Lord,

Help me to know well when I am in Christ Jesus, I am a new creation. I have begun and have an endless life in you. Being trapped in endless self pity, help me begin to study Your word and learn how to live in the light and not be afraid of it and be confident. Amen

New beginning 

When people begin to study God’s word and learn how to live in the light and not be afraid of it, their lives change for the better as God knows everything. We think we know ourselves when in reality we are often hiding not only from others but especially from ourselves. 

God had to show me many things about myself that were very uncomfortable like blaming my past for everything. 

The type of confidence we see displayed by Paul is freeing. It reminds us that Jesus died so we could be free. So if the son liberates you then you are really and unquestionably free. God wanted so much to see his children free and be able to enjoy life and was willing to send his only Son to die in order to ensure freedom. He purchased our freedom with the love of his Son. 

The very least we could do is to learn to see ourselves the way He sees us. A gracious and valuable God would not allow Jesus to die for a condemned people with no value and no purpose.
