Your value in Christ (5)- Is a Wealth in itself

Jesus will present you blameless and faultless to God if you place your trust in him. When God is for us,  we know Satan is against us. The question we must ask is, are we going to get into agreement with God or with the devil? Stop being against yourself just because Satan is against you.

Lord,

My firm foundation and my rock, even as my faulty carnal nature swings back again to standards of this world when the enemy dangles the keys to seduce me and  to trick me, when I find myself vacillating between the point of self sufficiency and hating myself, help me to desperately reflect on your living promises. Would you please rescue me in such times? In your name I pray, Amen.

Sad to say sometimes we discover that people are also against people through Satan’s work  as well as independently. He attacks our confidence with the things people say or don’t say. How important are people’s opinions of us? Are we thinking for ourselves, or do we always take everyone’s opinions? If people’s opinions, judgments and attitudes towards us are sometimes caused by the devil, instead of agreeing with what they  think and say we must just resist it.

If we know that God is for us then it shouldn’t matter how we feel or what other people think of us. The Bible says if God is on our side then what can others do to us? We take comfort and encouragement and confidently and boldly say that the Lord is our helper.

I will not be seized with alarm (I will not fear or dread  or be terrified) what can man do to me? Heb 13:6

A Balanced Attitude is  knowing our gifts come from God. We do not critically approve or look down on someone who is unable to excel at the same things we do. We are to estimate ourselves according to the grace of God, knowing our strength comes from him and make us no better than others. Don’t fall into this trap of being self sufficient, but don’t go to the other extreme too such as self rejection, self hatred, self abuse which is not the answer.

Just seek God whom I call everything, cause  nothing is there without him or apart from Him, we can do nothing. Remember that the strength that comes from confidence can be quickly lost in conceit. It is vital to remain humble. I know I can do nothing of real value unless Christ is flowing through me.

The Bible teaches about the importance of having a people’s attitude towards ourselves it teaches about our relationship with ourselves. Do you have a critical ‘fault finding attitude’ towards yourself if so you are out of God’s will. Paul refused to sit in judgement of himself and he paid no attention to anyone else who did judge him.
