Your value in Christ (4)-Not through the approval of others

The person who is most likely to be controlled is someone who has always been controlled so that it is a habit. Such a person is not accustomed to making his own decisions. It may be an insecure, fearful or timid person who has never practised confronting anything and anybody in life. Growing up,this is a reflection of how I felt.

Lord,

My maker and my creator,You know all the intricacies of my nature thereby I feel needy now, help me to be thirsty and hungry for you my Lord more and above all cravings for this world to fulfil me..Since  I am made for you , so will you help me live with the deep and amazing understanding that you value me more than the whole world itself? Amen.

You may not be able to differentiate between demonically instigated control and godly submission. The controlled person has a poor self image. You may think little of your ability and always assume everyone is  right and you are always wrong. If anyone disagrees with you, you may instantly shut down from inside and submit. A person must be a neurotic individual who feels he is at fault in every conflict yet a controlled person may be dependent on others for care, finances, place to live, employment. companionship etc.

People always need the approval of others. They desperately want everybody to look at them from head to feet and say that they are perfect.  If we are trying to be perfect ,we are going to be disappointed. We are imperfect human beings. We would not be satisfied and never be content with anything until we change our own attitudes.

God already knows our thoughts and every word in our mouth that is still not uttered with all his foreknowledge of our weakness and the mistakes we would make. He still chose us on purpose and brought us into a relationship with himself through Christ.

Do you know what the nature of your life is? You are but a wisp of vapour that is visible for a little while and disappears into thin air, as said in James 4:14. God knows our frame and remembers that we are but dust. As human beings we look at the performance of others but God sees the heart.

He has always known everything about you that you are just now finding out and he chose you on purpose for himself.
