Lord Jesus,
You are my strong tower, amidst all the storms of life. Today with my weakness and imperfections help me run to your arms as often I would rather than looking for solutions in my futile thinking and in my selfish tendencies. Create in me a heart always surrendering to the knowing that I am eternally loved and valued. Amen
Choose a new attitude towards yourself. Paul had to make that choice. I had to make that choice. I had to make it; you must make it also if you want to glorify God with your life.
God is not honoured by people who have a bad attitude towards themselves. It is insulting to him.
If you have loved and valued a group of people so much that you were willing to suffer horribly and die for them so they could enjoy themselves and their lives, how would it make you feel if they refused your gift.
Paul said that he pressed on to lay hold of that which Christ Jesus had laid hold of and made him his own. We try to hide our faults and the feelings which become one of our biggest problems. God knows everything and why do we try to hide away from him?
Don’t be afraid of your weaknesses any longer. Don’t allow them to make you hate yourself, give them all to God for he will surprise you by using them to strengthen you.
God is on our side: What then do we say to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? When you begin to surrender to God you experience a release from these things and you will be able to live light and free.
Don’t let your weakness and imperfectness embarrass you. You are very much a human being. You are not perfect and will never be.
Make your own decisions
Don’t allow other people to make decisions for you which is unwise. Being controlled and manipulated steals your joy and peace. You must be able to make choices yourself. As God has set before us life and death, blessings and curses, if you choose life you must choose to confront other people who try to control you.
People will actually respect you if you have boundaries set in your life.
There are times when we should not endure instead we should confront. Discerning when to confront is the real key to success and fulfilment. In this area some people are so timid, they endure longer than they should.
They ultimately become a doormat for other people to walk on. They spend their lives being mistreated and other people confront them too quickly. It is these people who need to learn the dynamics of standing still and depending on God.
