Forgiveness (2)- Biblical benefits

Forgiveness removes pain and resentment from your heart. You become happier and this is what the Lord desires for you. When your heart is pure, the Lord can find a place in it and fill it with love. When your life is free from grudge, the Lord can start sending you miracles.

Fear of further, injury makes us unwilling to move to new levels of relationship, not only with those who have hurt us but with anyone who represents a similar threat.

Psychologists generally define forgiveness as a conscious, deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment or vengeance toward a person or group who has harmed you, regardless of whether they actually deserve your forgiveness. … Forgiveness does not mean forgetting, nor does it mean condoning or excusing offences.

Refusing to forgive keeps others in our debt.

In families, we often see parents who hold some wrong against an adult child, exacting payment in visits, gifts, and favours. Although forgiving feels like an act of surrender, those who’ve done know it, it’s an act requiring tremendous strength.

Also know that the best revenge is your success, happiness, and the triumph of not giving vindictive people any dominion over your peace of mind.

Forgiveness refers to the actor, not the act. Not to the offence. Forgiveness is setting your mind free from the prison of emotion. When you forgive, you stop criticising someone for doing something wrong. Therefore, you do not bother your mind yourself by another person’s faults.
