Only broken pieces can be multiplied (Matthew 14: 19)

After the Sermon on the Mount Jesus broke the bread, the little boy’s meal, he broke five loaves and two fish, and gave it to the disciples to serve the multitude. When we as individuals are willing to offer to our Lord the little we have, our Lord will break us so that we will be a blessing to  many.

Dear Lord Jesus,

Help me to offer myself whenever I find myself broken to Your very hands that You will bless me in spite of whatever could be the reason. You will multiply to use me for your Kingdom plan. This is the least I can do in my brokenness.

In your name I offer this prayer, Amen.

Brokenness could be in many forms and in many ways and is individually experienced and understood according to our spiritual maturity with a willing heart and mind to submit and to yield to God’s will and plan.

Talking of a broken person- he has lost all hope and enthusiasm, because of bad experiences. A broken object has been damaged and is in two or more pieces. Literally if your heart is broken, you feel extremely sad.

Remember that Jesus’ body was broken in order to be a blessing and a healing power to  the whole world.

In order to resonate with the Spirit of God, each time our  inner man is broken, let’s resolve to offer it to God instead of questioning or doubting Him. This shows trusting His sovereignty which  has allowed such an event. Therefore totally surrendering and submitting to Jesus is in a state of  being at rest in our spirit is brokenness.

When we experience our feet being weakened and becoming feeble and tired as Jesus experienced while carrying the cross, let our eyes see Jesus as he gave his body as bread and blood as wine.

When we are struggling with our effort to escape , we say -” Lord help me to submit and surrender”, and when we  pray-” I hereby submit myself to be broken with Jesus on the cross for His glory and resurrection.”

When we are expected to keep giving, in such a way including our own life for Jesus, and also expected to perform impossible achievements- Remember we are being broken to be multiplied for many.

The beautiful thing that followed feeding the multitudes Jesus John 6;12  was the gathering of the leftovers which were evidence for all to see that a miracle had taken place of what little could be placed on the hands of Jesus.

In Matthew 15:37, he was asking them to collect the leftovers which were ‘seven’ baskets which could imply that when we are broken, we are useful even for all the 7 continents, meaning, NATIONS!

Can you believe how valuable is our brokenness!
